Saturated Canary Bookmark

A few weeks ago we lost power. My cell phone was nearly dead and I didn't want to drain the last of the battery listening to an audio book. I'd just gotten a paperback from my mother and it was an opportune time to read it. For the life of me I couldn't find a bookmark! The power came back on about six hours later but the landline, cable, and internet were off for 24 hours. I'd finished the book by the time everything was back to normal but I need to have a bookmark on hand for future use.

I colored up this cute Saturated Canary image with Copic markers to make one. Using a Dienamics tag, an eyelet and ribbon it was an easy task. I highlighted the image with Glossy Accents, a Spica glitter pen and colored "pearl" earrings. I would have loved to add flowers and bling, but for a bookmark it's just not practical. Try as I might I couldn't find a stamp, either actual or digital, that caught my fancy. I decided instead to use the Frantic Stamper Inc Mattie Thin Lowercase Alphabet and some red foil paper for a simple "read."

Don't Worry Be Happy

The latest Frantic Stamper Inc dies have been released and this card is my very first effort using them. How cute is this?

The sunflower design paper is from my stash. Using a Die-namics "Pierced Rectangle" die and solid white paper, I cut and inked clouds usings Close To My Heart Heavenly Blue ink. Next I used the Lady Bug and Bee die set along with a sentiment from a soon to be released Frantic Stamper Inc stamp set. The bee was cut from papers also from my stash while the wings are cut from Vellum. I coated the wings with glue and Martha Stewart "sugar cube" colored fine glitter. Finely I added foam squares for added dimension.

Be sure to stop by Frantic Stamper Inc to view all the new dies and stay tuned for the stamps. The stamps are made from a high quality polymer and are top notch. You won't be disappointed.

Keep High Standards

I had an idea in mind and when I actually sat at my craft table this card came together in less than ten minutes! I love it when an idea works out just as I planned, don't you? I started by using Frantic Stamper Inc's Elemental #7 - Coved labels die set. Next I used the Carmen die punching her out of foil paper.

I dug through my embossing folders and came up with the "Carmen" lace embossing folder from Anna Griffin. Finally I used a sentiment from My Creative Time to finish it off.

Easel with Green

It's time for another Paper A La Mode challenge at the Outlawz. Our sponsor this week is Fitztown with a theme of
Easel card w/twist Green
I have a confession to make. I don't normally like making easel cards. It's not because I don't like the easels themselves, it's because I often wonder if the recipient will know how to put it together! But I'm always up to the challenge of flexing my creative muscle and this challenge was no different.

I started out by coloring Cameo 11 with Copic markers and cutting and embossing the image with a Spellbinders Nestabilities oval die. The design paper is from the DCWV Magnolia Way stack. I added a Dienamites "Cattails" die along with the Elizabeth craft designs "Thinking Of You Stand Up Helper" die. I also used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and green foil paper and bling for added dimension. Finally I added the swirl bling, which I colored with a Copic marker, to give the printed butterfly "movement!"

Be sure to stop by Paper A La Mode for more inspiration and to enter the challenge with your own creation!

Sassy Studio Designs March Progressive Challenge

The image on this card is the one offered for the Sassy Studio Designs Progressive challenge this month. I colored the image with Copics and inked sky/clouds around the image using Close To My Heart "heavenly blue" ink. The design paper is Recollections from Michaels. I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities rectangle die to cut the image. The sentiment was cut with a Dienamics square pierced die. The sentiment is from Fiskars. I made the "triple bow" with organza ribbon and a Bowmaker and  finished the design with foam tape buttons and bling from my stash.
