Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #144

It's Thursday and time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday at Sassy Studio Designs! It's a our monthly holiday challenge. This month we want to see a holiday gift card holder.

I started by coloring "Samantha Sassy" w/Copics. Next, using the Cricut Forever Young cartridge and the Cricut gypsy I selected this cut purse shape. I resized, copied, flipped and welded the two purse shapes together. I scored 1/4" on each side of the welded center. Using Christmas paper and various elements from my stash I decorated the super cute card holder. For the inside I cute a piece of acetate paper and glued it to the inside of the holder to created a pocket for the card. Do you like it? I just love it. Being on the SSD team allows me to flex my creative muscle in a way I know I'd never just do on my own. So don't forget to stop by the SSD blog to see what the rest of the team has created and to enter your own creation!

Digi Darla Circles and Scallops

Today at Digi Darla Challenges the challenge is "Circles and Scallops." Our sponsor is Guylou's Inimitability.

This image is Leah at the Cocktail Party from Guylou's. I colored her w/Copics and used one of my favorite techniques--paper piecing. I thought the background paper was in the mood of scallops. The papers are from my stash. The roses are from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge and Cricut as well as the "ticket" which is stamped with a sentiment from "My Creative Time." Be sure to stop by DDC to see what the rest of the design team has created and to enter your own creation.

Sentimental Sundays Autumn

Yesterday marked the beginning of the Autmnal Equinox...in other words the beginning of Fall. At Sentimental Sundays we are sponsored by Saturated Canary and the challenge is Autumn. We want to see your Autumn themed projects.

I think Autumn is the perfect time to curl up with some hot chocolate and a good book...a real physical book. What better way to keep your place than to have an Autumn themed bookmark.

The image is "90s Girl." I colored her with Copics and cut with a scalloped rectangle Spellbinders Nestabilities. I used papers that were still on my table from two previous projects and added organza ribbon, the "fall" sentiment and a few pieces of bling. Be sure to stop by Sentimental Sundays to see what the rest of the "crackerjack" design team has come up with.

Halloween Party Sassy Studio Style

Welcome to another Sassy Studio Designs blog hop.  The theme is as stated above Halloween Party...make a project celebrating Halloween...can be a card/party favor or invite. You should have arrived here from Sara's blog. If not follow the links below to get back on track. Be sure to start at the SSD blog to get all the details on how to win.

This first card is using the image "Fortune Teller Sassy." I printed her "big head" style and colored with Copics. I used a white Gelly Roll pen to add highlights. I also used Stickles and Glossy Accents to make different elements standout. This is a very simple easel style card. I used Cloud9 papers, brads and as Martha Stewart punches and stamps. I printed the sentiment from my computer. I thought this would be a wonder placard near a bowl of candy.

This card is close to my heart because I am a three year breast cancer survivor. The image is "Pink Ribbon frame." I colored it with Copics and added Martha Steward "Cotton Candy" glitter to the frame.  This is a kind of tent card. I cut the square frame out of the center of the card after adding design papers. I added acetate paper behind the cut out. I wanted only the pink ribbon paper showing through the "window." The roses were cut from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cartridge; the branches from a Martha Stewart punch. I created the sentiment with my computer and a ribbon stamp. I really like the shadow box feel of this card.

Your next stop will be to the very talented Kathy at Will Stamp For Wine. I'm sure you'll be in for an awe-inspiring treat.

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday

It's time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday. Today at Sassy Studio Designs, the challenge is "Fall Colors." We want to see all of your creations using the colors of Fall especially red, brown and green.

I created this card using Elizabeth Bennett Sassy coloring her with Copics and cutting it out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die.. I chose this image because it seemed to reflect the sentiment of the sticker I found in my stash. The base card is Kraft cardstock. Design paper is from the Paper Studio. The leaves were cut with the Cricut and embosssed with Cuddlebug folders. I added my favorite organza ribbon. The image is popped up with foam tape.  I'm not sure I like the bling. I might just remove it.

Oh Baby Baby

Today at Digi Darla Challenges the challenge is "Baby, Baby." We want to see your creations of card, etc for a baby birthday, baby shower or whatever you can image pertaining to a baby.

I don't know what to call this fold but I love it. It was super easy to make. It only took 20 minutes! The image is called "Blessing from Heaven 5." I colored it with Copics and added Martha Stewart glitter to the mood. The base card is 7" folded in half. I used three different Spellbinders Nestabilities -- circle, lacey circle, and pennant. The butterflies are Martha Stewart with added glitter and bling.

The Corrosive Challenge - Animal Companion

Today the challenge at the Corrosive Challenge is Animal Companion. We want to see your creations featuring animals. The sponsor for this fortnight challenge is Delicious Doodles.

The image is from Digi Darla and was colored w/Copics. I fussy cut and popped it up with foam tape. The star, pennant and ball were cut with the Cricut. The balloons were made with a Paper Studio punch. The papers are from my stash. I used a Cuddlebug embossing folder as well as a Spellbinders Nestabilities pennant diecut for the sentiment which I printed from my computer. Finally I added baker's twine, bling and a gelly roll pen for highlights. This card would work well for a child or an adult.

Fell Better Soon

Most of the cards I make are for challenges but lately I've been making them for no particular reason. This card isn't one of them. I made this card for one of my bowling partner who might be out for the rest of the season. She is a mail carrier and fell 11 ft through a concrete porch. It took the skin off of her calf down to the muscle and broke her elbow in such a way that it was protruding through the skin!

The image is from The Greeting Farm and colored w/Copics. The flowers are hand rolled and they and the leaves are cut with the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. I cut the image out with an oval Spellbinders Nestabilities die-cut and framed it with the Lacey Oval Spellbinder Nestabilities die-cut. The doily and papers are from my stash. The butterflies were stamped and punched with a Martha Stewart stamp and punch set. I highlight both the lacey oval and the butterflies with bling. I also highlighted the eyes on the image with Glossy Accents and used Stickles to highlight the stethoscope and cross.

I'm positive this card will let her know I'm thinking about her and hoping her a speedy recovery.

BTW I'm featured on the Kraft Journal today!

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 9/13/2012

It's Thursday and you know what that means...Dare To Be Sassy Thursday! The very talented Kathy Curry has provided the DTBST team with a wonderful sketch. The challenge this week is to use it to create a card, scrapbook layout or whatever you decide.

I started with "Miranda Sassy" from the SSD June release. I colored her with Copics, fussy cut and added foam tape. Next I chose papers from my stash and did my interpretation of the sketch. The oval was cut with an oval Spellbinders Nestabilities die-cut which I pierced manually. It too is popped up with foam tape. The organza "sparkley" ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is from "My Creative Time."

I love how this card turned out. The image "Boy w/ Flowers," is from DigiDarla. I colored him w/Copics and as I always do with digis, I popped him up with foam tape. The papers are all from my stash. The edge punch is Martha Stewart as is the organza ribbon and tiny bling. The flowers were cut using the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge as were the leaves. The branches were made using a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is from Fiskars.

Sentimental Sundays and Bugaboo Stamps

Today at Sentimental Sundays we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps. The challenge is "Humor Me." I absolutely love Bugaboo Stamps but this "Humor Me" challenge is too easy. The Bugaboo Stamps "Stella" is beyond funny. The only hard part is deciding which image and "snarky" sentiment to use.

The image is "FIdrinkcoffee." My husband and I are huge coffee fans so I decided to use this image because I'm altering a box  that held mocha flavored smoothie mix. Now I use it to store my embossing folders. I colored the image w/Copics in "coffee colored" tones. I colored the letters in an "ombre-like" effect and added a few pieces of bling. I also used the Spellbinders Nestabilites die-cut "deckled" rectangles. By finally added an organza ribbon, foam tape and string of champagne colored bling, I think I've created an interesting but clean and simple side panel to my project.

I colored the image w/ Copics and used papers from my stash. The bride of Frankenstein is a mythical character isn't she? The roses and leaves were cut with the Cricut using the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. The sparkly lace circle was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die-cut. The sentiment is from the "Unity Stamp" company.

Aud Sentiments sponsored by Robyns Fetish

It's the second week  of our Christmas challenge at Aud Sentiments. For this fortnight challenge we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish. The challenge is to create a card or project with a Christmas or Holiday sentiment.

I colored the image w/Copics and used papers from two different DCWV Christmas stacks. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart. I added a few pieces of bling to the mittens and scarf. The cardstock that I use for my cards sometimes doesn't want to hold the weight of the embellishments and mats so I decided to try making a tent card. I watched a couple of videos on line but they were much more complicated than need be. I simply cut the 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock in half to 4 1/4" x 11". After scoring it at 5 1/2" I cut a piece of  cardstock 4 1/4"  x  4" and scored it a 1", 2" and 3" . Fold it as valley, peak, valley. Add adhesive above the "valley" and attach to bottom of card. Super simple!

Sassy Studio Designs Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 9/6/2012

Welcome to another Sassy Studio Designs Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge. This week's challenge is "Fancy Folds." We want to see all of those fancy folded cards. This is the perfect opportunity to try a fold that you have always wanted to make but never got around to!

The base of this circular side step card was created with Kraft cardstock. Using papers from my stash, I created the background and incorporated "paper tearing." The image "Captain Hook" was offered as a freebie during our last new release chat. I fussy cut the image colored it with Copics and used a glitter pen to highlight the sword, hook and buttons. While fussy cutting I cut off the "plume" and substituted a real feather. The ship and treasure are Jolee's dimensional stickers and the sentiment was a freebie from Create w/TLC. I distressed the edges of the "mat" and added Tim Holtz distress ink around the edges to give it a vintage feel.

Drop by SSD to enter your own creation and to see what the rest of the design team has created!
